What is a Mass Intention stipend?
The stipend or offering given for a Mass Intention, signifies the sacrificial nature of giving of something of yourself to associate more intimately with Christ who offers himself in the Eucharist. The stipend is $20.
How many weekend Mass intentions are accepted per year?
There is only one Mass Intention per Mass. Members can schedule 2 Mass Intentions per year. For weekday Mass Intentions, one can schedule extra dates.
What happens on the day of the Mass intention?
The Mass intention is read during the Prayer of the Faithful and the intention is also listed in the parish bulletin. Families are also welcome to bring up the gifts during the Presentation of the Gifts during weekend Masses & Holy Days.
Can a Mass intention be for someone who is not deceased?
Yes – it is then listed as “the intention(s) of” that specific person(s) and/or event (i.e., the intention of Joe and Jill Smith's 25th Wedding Anniversary, Living & Deceased Members of ... Family, special intention, etc).
